Small Steps 4 Life

The healthy and active lifestyle strand of Get Set

Small Steps 4 Life

SmallSteps4Life is leading the healthy and active lifestyle strand of Get Set – the London 2012 education programme and has been trialled in PRUs across the UK in the past 12 months. This toolkit is to support others in PRUs or similar settings to deliver SmallSteps4Life to inspire and motivate young people to take their own small steps towards improving their health and well-being and so help to deliver the 2012 Games lasting legacy.

Get Set

The concept of SmallSteps4Life – taking small steps to change behaviour fits really well with the work so many PRU and similar settings do every day in their work with young people.

The idea is to set a challenge for an identified 4 week period and stick to it...the theory is that this will have a lasting impact.....a small change for life!

This toolkit is designed to inspire you to run a SmallSteps4Life project in your PRU in the run up to 2012. We hope that once you have had a go you will find that both staff and students enjoy the challenge you will feel that it’s worth incorporating some of the ideas into your programmes in the future.

We all agree it's been a fun way to learn!
